BlackBerry Bold 9700 is a 3G device while its contender supports only 2G facility. Measurement is almost same but Curve is 0.1 mm slimmer with 13.9 mm thickness in comparison of 14 mm depth of former one and both weigh 122 grams and 106 grams respectively. 9700 can display 65K colors on its 2.44 inches TFT screen with 480 x 360 pixels resolution on the other hand, the second one can do the same with its 2.46 inches TFT display and 320 x 240 pixels resolving efficiency. Both have full QWERTY keyboard but first one is different with dedicated music keys.

256MB internal storage, 2GB microSD attached and up to 16 GB external back-up are with 9700 on the other side latter one sports 256 MB internal and just double external support of its rival i.e. up to 32 GB. Former one is powered by WLAN Wi-Fi with UMA, Document viewer/editor GPS navigation with A-GPS support and BlackBerry maps where Curve has WLAN Wi-Fi, Document viewer, Blackberry maps but no GPS service is there. CPU of first BlackBerry’s is more advanced with 624 MHz processor as compare to 8520’s CPU with 512MHz processor.
Bold 9700 has standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery with better talk time up to 6 hours to beat Curve 8250’s less powerful standard Li-Ion 1150 mAh battery that serves up to 4 hours and 30 minutes only.
