The o2 shop has moved into the mobile phone voucher market with a new service called Priority Moments. The telco has linked up with 30 partners on this new loyalty scheme which will benefit network users in a variety of ways. Deals on show at the recent press launch included free drinks at Zizzi, Harvey Nichols tote bags and a free box of O2 chocolates at Hotel Chocolat.

Priority Moments will not only be competing with other mobile phone networks, such as Orange Wednesdays (their 2-4-1 cinema service), but also other market giants such as Groupon and Vouchercloud. O2 marketing and consumer director Sally Cowdry explained the purpose of the new venture as: “This all about getting our customers to feel like they’re having a party. We want to give them money off products and experiences. If other customers are attracted to O2 because they see the way we treat our customers then that’s great.”
One of the deals appears to take on Orange Wednesdays directly, as Priority Moments offers 50% off cinema tickets at Odeon at launch. O2’s Odeon deal will reportedly run for 4 months. It will be interesting to see how and when the other mobile phone networks compete.
Offers and experiences are unique to the service and could include early access to a sale, free delivery on goods or a free glass of wine with a meal. The scheme is available for O2 customers via a simple downloaded app from the Android marketplace, and there is apparently no end to the possible deals coming up in the near future. Cowdry added: “To be honest, there is not a limit to how many brands we can have. We want to be able to offer our customers money saving from as many categories as they are interested in. We are excited and can’t wait to see where we go from here.”
