Nokia Xpress Now App Serves Users of Asha Phones with Popular Content

Nokia Xpress Now has been announced for the Asha range of phones by the Finnish manufacturer. With this application, Nokia has continued to inflate the user experience for the phones belonging to the Asha series. This is a smart application that recommends the websites and content for the users on the basis of liking of other Asha phone owners.

This application works by collecting the content that is being surfed by the user base of the Xpress browser through out the world. From there, it collects the most popular websites and stories through some dedicated streams so that it can help in discovering the content.

The users are provided with three streams via this app to pursue including: You May Also Like, Most Liked and What’s Hot. The What’s Hot stream allows users to move through all the content which is based on what’s popular with the user base. In You May Also Like, users will get information on all the websites that are viewed by Xpress Now’s global user base.

Lastly, the Most Like is a stream about which users are seen most curious. This feature ranks the content available on the basis of likes that are received by it from the user base of this app. This stream is not yet available with the users and is expected to roll out soon.

According to Andy Kelm, Nokia Xpress Services, Vice President, the Nokia Xpress Now is concerning discovery of some interesting stories and new content completely based on the preference of Crowd. Kelm added to the statement that their intention is to provide their users with ways to find out interesting things easily in order to inform and entertain you.

Nokia will be providing this particular service to the users of Asha phones like Asha 302 and Asha 210 very soon. The Vice President says that, this is a great move on the part of the manufacturer as many users of Asha phones have little experience with internet and this will provide them with a chance to discover new sources for getting news, information and entertainment.

This can also be taken as a method to keep the users of Nokia busy with their own services and cutting the time that they would have wasted in looking for the information using Google or other search engines and social networks. This will obviously give a chance to the Finnish vendor to provide advertisers with more value and to engage them with their users.

The reports suggest that Nokia has sold around 9.3 million Asha devices in the fourth quarter of 2012. Since these reports were released, the company has unveiled some more Asha devices such as Nokia Asha 501. We also reported through the official blog that Nokia has announced the new Asha 501 feature phone. This new handset of the company features a QWERTY Keyboard along with some remarkable features.
